Our love story is nothing short of surprising. I even remember the morning we had to say goodbye, as I was heading home to the United States. Edi looked at me and said, “I know you don’t believe in fate…” but in that moment, he made me believe. How could I not?Just a week before, we had happened to meet at a bar in Milan, Italy—two complete strangers with an instant connection neither of us could explain. A night that could have ended as a beautiful memory turned into an even more beautiful love story with no ending.The next day was our first date in Italy. A week later, our second in Switzerland. And months later, our third in the United States.Our love spans 5,678 miles and an 8 hour time difference… and across every mile, we keep choosing each otherWe didn’t plan it, but we found it anyway. On a summer night in Milan, Italy, two lives already defined, set on different paths, cross by chance. She is in the middle of a journey across Europe, moving through cities, emotions, and memories that already feel impossible to top. Milan is just a stop before continuing on to Switzerland. He, from Italy but with a life built in Switzerland, has no idea that this night will change everything. They meet at an outdoor bar. A glance, a lighthearted remark, “you’re American”, and a laugh that immediately erases the distance between them. Then, a simple, almost unnoticed gesture: she gently brushes a mosquito away from his face. an ordinary moment, yet enough to create something unexpected. The night flows effortlessly, through conversation, glances, and a presence that becomes more and more natural. Even when they are not standing next to each other, they continue to find one another, as if everything else has faded into the background. At the end of the evening, it is time to say goodbye. A hug, a kiss, and that subtle fear shared but unspoken, that everything could end there. But the next day, they find each other again. They reconnect almost without hesitation. He suggests seeing her again and tells her he will come find her, even if just to spend a few hours together. And he does. What was meant to be something small becomes much more. They talk, they open up, they share everything without holding back. Everything feels easy, natural, as if they have known each other forever. Their paths, which once seemed already written, begin to intertwine. She is heading to Switzerland, he already lives there, and somehow, they keep getting closer, becoming part of each other’s lives. They meet again in Zurich,where something fleeting becomes something real. They part, yet remain tetheredthrough distance, through time. They seek one another,return to one another,and, in the end, choose one another again and again.

Esme is the constant in Michaela's life. She has been her longest-lasting friendship, as it started in the first grade. Michaela calls Esme the sister she never had. It is incredibly important to Michaela that Esme stand by her on the most important day of her life. The two of them spent their childhood dreaming of the day they would be in each other's weddings, watching their best friend marry the love of their life.

Xytlalli came into Michaela's life at exactly the right time, and since then, they have been each other’s confidants and partners in everything. She was there at the very beginning of our relationship, making her deeply important to both of us.

Edi chose her as his witness, and she is also standing by Michaela's side as her bridesmaid, honoring the bond she shares with both of them.
